Quality Measures

Jewish Hospital has been serving this region for more than 100 years. We have earned a reputation for medical innovation and quality. We are committed to providing the highest quality care to those in need.

Quality can be measured in many different ways. While there may be no set standard on which methods should be used, there are agencies that rate hospital quality on a variety of measures.

Agencies That Rate Quality

Center for Medicare Services (CMS)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is the federal agency responsible for administering several health-related programs, including: Medicare, Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance (SCHIP), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

This website provides information on the quality of care in hospitals across the US who have volunteered to report their data for selected clinical topics.

To begin, visit CMS and select Kentucky.

Health Grades

Health Grades is a healthcare ratings, information, and advisory services company which measures and assesses healthcare quality. Visit Healthgrades for free hospital ratings on the most popular medical conditions.

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. JCAHO is an independent, not-for-profit organization. The Joint Commission is the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
