What We Offer the Community We offer an array of specialized programs for those with emotional and behavioral problems: Adult Psychiatric Treatment The adult psychiatric treatment programs at OLOP are designed to help individuals who have short term and/or acute care mental health needs. Adults needing any one of these programs may exhibit various mental health problems such as:a complex psychiatric disorder, being a threat to themselves or others, or having experienced a mental status change. Treatment options include 23-hour crisis stabilization, acute inpatient, partial hospitalization or an intensive outpatient treatment program. Pathways to Peace (Adult Addictions Treatment) This Program is available for individuals wanting to become free of chemical use or other addictions. It examines the emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal antecedents and consequences of that addiction, in order to develop a plan to deal with those issues. Program scheduling and structure is designed to afford an intensive, as well as relatively short-term treatment structure. Treatment options include inpatient, partial hospitalization and day and evening intensive outpatient programs. We also emphasize aftercare services to provide the supportive environment necessary in the initial stages of recovery to support abstinence. Geropsychiatric Treatment Services Treatment programs for older adults include inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. The programs offer older adults with dementia, depression, anxiety and other psychiatric issues an opportunity for treatment to be tailored to their functional abilities and needs. Family members and caregivers are involved in the patient’s treatment and ongoing plan of care. Transitions This Program addresses the devastating impact a serious and persistent mental illness can have on a person's life. Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression can impair the ability to function at home, work or in relationships. However, with proper treatment, the skills necessary for successful living can be developed. Partial hospitalization and Intensive outpatient programs are available. Children’s and Adolescents’ Treatment OLOP offers numerous treatment programs for children and adolescents. Our specially designed patient care units provide comprehensive services including treatment programs for general psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety and problems such as trauma associated with physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, etc. We also offer short-term and longer term chemical dependency programs as well as a treatment track for sexual offenders. Neurobehavioral Center and Innovations Programs This nationally recognized, state-of-the-art treatment center within OLOP offers a program for children and adolescents with a dual diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder plus an underlying developmental disability, such as mental retardation, autism or a brain injury and other related conditions. The program is designed to assist children and adolescents and their families when these conditions are accompanied by significant emotional or behavioral challenges that impede meaningful family, social and community integration. Youth Exceptional Services (Adolescent Forensic) This acute psychiatric patient care unit specializes in treatment for emotionally disturbed or psychotic adolescent males who have criminal charges pending, or who have been adjudicated and are serving a sentence for those charges, as well as those youth with severe aggression. Treatment is provided on a self-contained unit. Being totally self-contained, the unit encourages full engagement in school and therapeutic activities. Crossroads Child/Adolescent Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programs This program is designed to stabilize children and families in crisis. We offer a bridge for children and adolescents transitioning from an inpatient hospital stay back to the community and also support children and adolescents who may be at risk of needing an inpatient hospitalization with stabilization in the community. Treatment modalities include: Group Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Behavior Management, Group Psychoeducation, Medication Management and JCPS Academic Program. Two full-day programs are available, one at OLOP and one near Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. An after school intensive outpatient program for adolescents is offered at the OLOPsite. Peace Counseling Services Outpatient mental health services are available through Peace Counseling Services in Louisville. These services are provided in primary care physicians’ offices allowing collaboration with these physicians regarding clients’ conditions. Services offered include individual, family, group, and couples’ counseling. Christian-based therapy is also offered through the Passages Program. We have experienced professional psychotherapists who are skilled in treating children, adolescents, adults and seniors with an array of problems including: anxiety, depression, substance abuse, ADHD, childhood disorders, developmental delays, etc. Modalities that might be used include EMDR, Thought-Field Therapy, Play Therapy, and faith-based counseling. Passages This Christian-based therapy program adheres to the belief that the Christian faith offers hope and healing to hurting individuals, families, and communities. Passages is designed to go beyond traditional forms of treatment in addressing the person as a holistic being, giving particular attention to spiritual needs. |
